Koltsov goal completes Moose rally

It didn't take long for the two sides to reacquaint themselves, as Wade Brokbank and Rocky Thompson dropped the gloves 18 seconds in. Brookbank got the clear advantage in round two between these combatants.

The Moose had two solid scoring chances early. Kevin Bieksa took a cross-ice pass from the front of the net but his backhander missed the net. Several minutes later, Jason King sent Josh Green in on a breakaway but he was hooked slightly by Edmonton's Brent Henley.

Ten minutes into the first, the second fight of the game occurred. Josh Green and Dan Baum wrestled for a minute or so with few punches thrown.

With Kevin Bieksa in the box for slashing, Edmonton drew first blood in the game. Brad Winchester tipped a Joe Cullen pass past Auld low stick side to make it 1-0.

After one period, the Moose were down 1-0 despite outshooting Edmonton 7-5.

Early in the second, Jason King had a great chance to tie the game up for the Moose. He skated in on Moss and deked around the Edmonton netminder but fanned on the backhand. About a minute later, Jeff Heerema fanned on an open net chance.

Brad Winchester scored his second powerplay goal of the game while the Moose were killing a penalty for too many men. Winchester one-timed pass while in the slot that beat Auld top corner.

Near the end of the period, Raffi Torres and Joe DiPenta traded blows. Torres landed a number of shots on DiPenta, winning convincingly.

The Moose looked to be in trouble when at the conclusion of a powerplay, Toby Petersen broke free but the Edmonton forward shot the puck high over Auld.

After two periods, Edmonton had a 2-0 lead and a 17-14 edge on the shot clock.

Early in the third, the Moose made a dent in the Edmonton lead when Johnathan Aitken ripped a shot from the point that was deflected by Edmonton's Brent Henley.

Midway through the final frame, Josh Green tipped an Aitken point shot. After redirecting the blast, it went through the wickets of Tyler Moss to tie the game at 2-2.

As the third was winding down, the Moose had a four-on-three powerplay and capitalized, completing the comeback. Kirill Koltsov corralled the puck at the top of the faceoff circle and wristed it by Moss to give the Moose the 3-2 lead.

NOTES: Aitken extended his scoring streak to five games and scored his first two goals of the season... With the two wins in Edmonton, it was the first time the Moose swept a road trip since December 28-29, 2001 (Houston, Chicago).
